Lorna grew up in Mitchellville, Maryland and is the older of two children. During her happy childhood, both parents worked full time in demanding jobs,
and she describes her childhood home as full of love and organized chaos.
Lorna is a graduate of Denison University in Ohio, where she majored in History and Classical Civilization. What, exactly, does one do with a major in History
and Classical Civilization? Well, after college, Lorna moved to New York City and worked at Project Orbis, a non-profit that sends doctors to developing
countries to perform eye surgery and to train the resident physicians. See (pun intended) the connection between her degree and employment? Me neither.
At any rate, living in New York City is quite pricey and while she enjoyed working at a non-profit, Lorna herself needed to make a profit. Thus she made a
career change.
Her next adventure was to join the very-much-for-profit financial wizards on Wall Street. Lorna joined Cantor Fitzgerald, a Broker Dealer, and after completing
their training program, worked as a trader both on the bond and equity desks. After four years at Cantor Fitzgerald, Lorna accepted a position at EBS, an
electronic brokerage system for foreign exchange traders. While working at EBS the erstwhile Lorna Zweibel met the dashing but recently widowed Brian Gager.
Very soon Lorna found herself moving out of the city and surrendering her single status. Presto chango, she's living in Rye, New York and mom to four young
children. Talk about the need for organizational skills! Fortunately she has them in spades.
Now Lorna is the chief financial officer and chief executive officer of the Gager household, which is holding steady at seven members. With the youngest Gager
child ready to begin school full time, Lorna hatched the brilliant idea to start a business utilizing her organizational skills and incorporating her desire to
help others. She ran the idea by her friend Linda, and Blissfully Organized was born.
Lorna has been a member of NAPO, the National Association of Professional Organizers, since 2006 and has attended several national organizing conferences.
